Power of Gratefulness During Covid-19 And Always
What if I told you that there is one simple, quick, psychologically proven technique you can use daily to improve your well-being? It is so powerful that a few minutes a day will bring amazing results.
Due to Covid-19, being stuck at home and not being able to see friends and family, we are all going through very challenging times. It becomes easy to shift our focus on negativity. Our minds feel busy and our hearts feel heavy.
Is there a way to be mentally well, calm and happy during the times of a global pandemic? I am sure, there is! And I will help you to find it. In this article, I will talk about the power of gratefulness - if you read carefully - it will change your life as it did mine.
What is Gratefulness?
Gratefulness is shifting your focus on the present moment. It allows us to celebrate 'here and now'. Gratitude is a feeling that will uplift your spirit. It is appreciation, of what you have, feel, hear and do, that spontaneously emerges from within. Gratitude is a choice.
Choose to be grateful for this moment and you will learn to maintain a positive outlook to life.
How to Practise Gratefulness?
It is very easy. Every day you find time to think of a couple of things you are grateful for. It can be anything from a lovely cup of coffee in the morning to being grateful for your family, your health or beautiful, sunny day.
I prefer using a journal. Writing it all down signals to the brain “this is important”. Every day I find quiet five to ten minutes where I write a list of things I am grateful for. I have started gratefulness journal few years ago when I felt really lost and unenthusiastic about life in general. My brother gave me an idea to write a gratefulness journal and I will be thanking him for this all my life.
Gratefulness practises are an absolute game changer! They shift your mind to focus on the positives of your life and you realise that even in the darkest days there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for.
The Five Minute Journal
The Five Minute Journal is the best present you can give to yourself. I have found this gem online when creators Alex and Mimi Ikonn introduced it online. I have been following them on Instagram and Youtube for many years and was excited to use their product. I can surely say this journal is not only aesthetically pleasing but also very easy to use.
The journal consists of inspiring quotes, daily affirmations and end of day self reflections which make your gratefulness practises very enjoyable.
Daily affirmation of goodness and recognition of something valuable to you will completely change your mindset and inspire you to do great things with your life.
